Gp East is a private practice established in Kensington in 2008. There has been a general practice at our premises for over 40 years. We provide high quality personalised care for all ages and are committed to treating all patients with dignity and respect. Our dedicated staff, include General Practitioners, Registered Nurses, a Dietitian and friendly professional receptionists.
We are fully accredited with AGPAL and maintain standards set by Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
Our practice is committed to preventative care and undertakes ongoing quality improvement.
Appointments
Please phone for an appointment. We will give priority to emergencies. Let us know if you require a long appointment.
If you are concerned about waiting times, please ring the surgery before coming in .Telehealth appointments are available for existing patients.
After hours visits
For after hours home visits, call 13 7425 ( 13 SICK). These visits are bulk billed and we will be notified of details of your consultation. For emergencies call 000 or attend your nearest hospital Emergency department.

We need to continue to be vigilant in our fight against Coronavirus.
Vaccination for all is essential .
Telehealth consultations are available, if a face to face consult is not possible due to COVID symptoms or infection.
Measures such as social distancing , frequent hand washing and wearing masks are important for preventing outbreaks.
There is space outside to wait if the waiting room is crowded or you have any symptoms .
It is very important to isolate and have a COVID test if you have any COVID symptoms especially cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, fever or other respiratory symptoms.
Older people and people with chronic disease such as heart disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, hypertension and cancer are at higher risk of the more severe forms of the illness.
Please do a RAT test if you have any COVID symptoms . We can arrange a telehealth appointment to discuss your management if you have COVID .

If you have COVID , book a telehealth appointment. Cost will be Private billing $85 - $130 depending on time taken.The normal medicare rebate will apply. Limited bulk billing is available under specific Medicare criteria (not everyone will be eligible). We are offering this option to patients who are normally bulk billed ; ie Pensioners.
